YABATECH imposes use of ID Cards on staff, students to beef up security

As part of its efforts to beef up the security on its campus, the management of Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH) has made the wearing of identity cards compulsory for members of staff and students.

The order was revealed in a statement signed by the Deputy Registrar of YABATECH, Joe Ejiofor, on Thursday in Lagos.

Ejiofor, who is also the Public Relations Officer(PRO) of YABATECH, said precautionary actions were crucial to improving the security measures on the institution’s campus.

He added that the move by the management would protect against the intrusion of dubious characters within the college’s campus.

“The issue of security is very important, the management has therefore given a directive that henceforth, members of staff and students must have the College identity card on, especially on the school premises.

“It is in the context that everyone in the College is enjoined to cooperate with management to ensure total compliance of this directive, which is for the good of all,” he said.

The PRO said that the college management would not relent in safeguarding the lives and property of staff and students on campus.

The Deputy Registrar noted that the police joined the college’s internal security unit to beef up security.
