Every Lagos Resident Must Have Health Insurance – Hon Adewale Temitope Adedeji

Hon Adewale Temitope Adedeji (ATA), member representing Ifako-Ijaiye Constituency 01 at the Lagos State House of Assembly, has said that it is now compulsory for every resident of the State to have health insurance.

He made this known while speaking at the opening of the 3-day free medical outreach for residents of Ifako-Ijaiye.

At the event attended by the Lagos State Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi, Hon Adewale said that the state has made it compulsory that every individual who resides in Lagos State must have health insurance.

“In a way to prioritise the health of Lagos residents, the state government made it compulsory for all residents to have health insurance and this is one of the reasons we are here today. 400 widows and aged women will be given the health insurance cards today as part of our drive to ensure that the good of people Ifako-Ijaiye are not left behind in enjoying the dividends of democracy,” Hon Adewale said.

Speaking at the event, Prof Akin Abayomi commended Hon Adewale for the initiative while urging residents to take their health seriously.

The 3-in-1 free medical outreach which included the Distribution of Free Health Insurance Packages to 400 Widows and Aged Women in the Constituency; Free Comprehensive Medical Check Up with Free Test And Drugs For 500 Residents and Free Eyes Screening And Free Eyes Glasses ( JIGI JAH) for 500 people held at Hon Adewale’s Constituency Office, Unity Centre (Ajumose), Elliot.
