POLICE ARREST SUSPECTED HOODLUMS WHO ATTACKED COUNCIL REVENUE STAFF IN MUSHIN

The Area D Police Command in Mushin have arrested a team of suspects who attacked staff of Mushin Local Government Revenue Enforcement Team on Thursday 9th December, 2021 at NEPA area, along Mushin/Itire road in Mushin Local Government.

The suspects led by Rasak Ajibola (aka AP) attacked the revenue enforcement staff of Mushin Local Government, while on their lawful duty to recover unpaid levies and rates by defaulting business owners, around Itire road axis. The suspects who were fully armed with dangerous weapons, including women and some youths, outnumbered the staff, attacked them and carted away some of their personal belongings including money.

In a swift reaction, the operation team of Area D command led by Inspector Garba with the chief security officer to the Executive Chairman of Mushin Local Government, Alhaji Luqman Babatubde Adeoye, stormed the location with armed policemen and arrested the team leader of the suspected hoodlums, Rasaq Ajibola. Some of the suspects on sighting the arrival of police team, took to their heels and escaped, while the police arrested their team leader and some of their female informants on ground.

The Area Commander of Area D, ACP Aliko Dankoli has ordered for the manhunt and arrest of all the remaining members of the gang within the vicinity and police have put all machinery in motion for surveillance and continuous arrest of all the hoodlums involved in the attack against the staff of Mushin Local Government on Thursday 9th December, 2021. ACP Dankoli also vowed that his team will keep eyes on all flash points in Mushin especially during this festive season to ensure that citizens and residents of Mushin community enjoy a safe and secured yuletide celebration.

All the suspects arrested are to be arraigned in court on Monday while the search for other suspects continues.

Recently, the Executive Chairman, Hon. Emmanuel Bamigboye, donated patrol vehicles to the Area D Police Command and other police divisional headquarters in Mushin, as part of his efforts to intensify security and motivate the police towards protection of lives and properties in Mushin community.

The administration of Hon. Bamigboye is working round the clock to ensure a peaceful and conducive environment for businesses in Mushin and to make the community a crime free zone with guaranteed security of lives and properties for residents and investors.
