BUILDING COLLAPSE: LAGOS SETS UP INFORMATION DESK, MEDICAL SUPPORT SERVICES AT SITE

– Provides First Aid, Treatment & Counselling Services
– Opens a helpline

As part of the overall rescue and medical intervention efforts at the site of the 21-storey building collapse in Ikoyi, the Lagos State Government has set up a medical base and an information desk at the site to provide medical support and sundry services to affected persons and their family members.

The medical base comprises three sections providing varied support services. The sections that make up the medical base include; an information desk, a medical desk and counselling desk.

The information desk was set up to address questions and concerns from affected family members of victims including the provision of physical and digital missing person forms.

The medical desk is manned by the Lagos State Ambulance Service (LASAMBUS) personnel who are providing first aid and treatment while the counselling desk, manned by trained professionals
