Miyetti Allah Begins Registration For Herdsmen In Ogun State

The leadership of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria has said the association will see to the end of farmer/herder’s crisis in the state. Among the strategies to be adopted is the compulsory registration for all herdsmen in Ogun state.

The association disclosed this during a consultation and fact finding visit of the Crescent University’s Students. The Mass Communication student’s whose speciality is Public Relations made the courtesy call on Saturday in a bid to see to the reason behind and find solutions to the herder and farmers crisis in Nigeria.

According to the Miyetti Allah’s Chairman in Ogun state, Alhaji Dende, the registration would avail the association the opportunity to its authentic members and resolve the rampaging farmers/herders clashes.
Dende said the registration exercise would commence very soon at the association’s secretariat at Rounder in Abeokuta beginning from 10am daily later in the year.

The group equally called on state governments to establish ranch as a way accommodating the herders and in all part of the country.

The group however, noted that, some criminal elements from bordering countries with Nigeria have infiltrated the association, thereby committing atrocities under the guise of Miyetti Allah.

Alhaji Dende maintained that, the association remained law abiding, calling on security agencies, especially Nigeria Immigration Service to ensure scrutiny of all immigrants coming into the country.

He therefore, assured the collaboration of the association with security agencies in identifying killer herdsmen from Miyetti Allah.
