Rotary District 9110, Nigeria has approved and announced the new date for its annual youth and leadership training, Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA).
RYLA which was rescheduled to hold 30 January to 7 February 2021 has now been fixed for 13th – 21st February 2021 which is immediately after NYSC Orientation Camp program taking place in Lagos at the NYSC Camp in Iyana Ipaja.

This is coming after The Lagos State Ministry of Youth and Social Development approved the re-scheduled date in a letter from the ministry to the organizer of the event.
Earlier, the Lagos State Safety Commission had issued an approval letter dated 29 December 2020, sought by Citizenship and Leadership Training Centre to commence RYLA immediately after NYSC Orientation program earlier slated for 5 January; but Federal Government placed on hold nationwide all NYSC and Schools resumption.
However, schools reopened 18 January and NYSC Orientation Camps on 19 January in Iyana-Ipaja Camp. The corps members camping is ongoing and slated to end on 8 February 2021.
The Lagos State Ministry of Youth and Social Development has therefore confirmed RYLA to hold immediately after the NYSC program on January 13th to 21st February 2021.
The Rotary District 9110 Governor, Bola Oyebade during a meeting with the Chairman, RYLA Committee; Ben Okhumale has directed that strict COVID19 measures should be put in place to complement existing ones on the facility and for use of all participants and guest throughout the programme.
“In as much as we want to empower and train our youth to be useful to the society and our world; then we should adhere strictly to the regulations of the government and also stick to all directives of all government agencies rand regulations”, DG. Bola said.
Ben while reacting to government’s directive said: “Rotary as demonstrated high integrity and with RYLA Committee, District 9110 is ensuring to abide by Government directives”.
RYLA 2020 program is organized in collaboration with the Citizenship and Leadership Training Centre as Facilitators, NYSC Lagos and the Lagos State Ministry of Youth and Social Development and regulatory directives from the Lagos State Safety Commission.
