Traffic: Sanwoolu inspects Apapa road, blames trailer drivers for gridlocks

The Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu on embarked on a fact-finding visit to Apapa Ports on Monday to check the reason for the incessant congestion in the port area, despite the state provision of parking lots for trailers.

According to the tweet by the Senior Special Assistant on New Media to the Lagos State Governor, Gawat Jubril where he posted a video of the Governor speaking to on the drivers who packed on the newly constructed road by the government for days.

In the video, the governor sought why trailers drivers would block the road and shockingly one of them said he was waiting for people who will be needing their service to lift their goods from the port.

While Mr. Governor, Babajide Sanwoolu was speaking with the driver, it was discovered that the man ad other drivers have been sleeping on the road for four days thereby blocking the road and causing traffic on that axis of Lagos.

The governor while reacting to the attitude of the drivers said the reason Lagosians are finding it difficult using the road nothing but the drivers who derived joy in using the road as a parking lot instead of utilizing the space provided by the government.

“This is not rocket science and now the citizens will see that the problem is not the government but the trailer drivers”, Sanwoolu said.
