Lagos State government commends LG for LAISEC office over haul

Hon members of the Lagos State House of Assembly Committee on Judiciary, Human Rights, Public Petitions and LASIEC, paid a working visit to Ojokoro Local Council Development Area on Wednesday, 2nd December, 2020.
The team was led by the Chairman of the Committee, Hon. Victor Akande, accompanied by Hon. Desmond Elliot, a member of the Committee and Chairman, House Committee on Environment, the visit is one of the oversight functions of the Lawmakers to ascertain the level of preparations by the Council for the next local government elections in Lagos State, as they took time to inspect the office of the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) in the LCDA.

Hon. Akande commended the Council’s authorities for providing a conducive office accommodation for Officials of the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) in the LCDA.
He however, urged the Council’s authorities to provide more facilities which would enhance better service delivery by the electoral body in the LCDA during the forthcoming local government elections in the state.
Responding on behalf of the Executive Chairman of the Council, the Vice Chairman, Hon. Sesan Sobande, thanked the Hon members for finding time to visit Ojokoro LCDA.
The Vice Chairman gave assurance that all additional facilities required by the electoral body would be put in place, before the next local government elections.
Some members of staff of the Lagos State House of Assembly accompanied the House Committee members on the visit, while members of the Ojokoro Legislative House, led by the leader, Hon. Abdul-Azeez Osho and the Council’s Management staff, including the Council Manager, Engr. Tajudeen Afolabi were on ground to welcome the visitors to the Council.
