Hon. Tijani Adetoyese Olusi distributes cash to Lagos Islanders

The ongoing Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) initiative also known as Household Uplifting Program (HUP) that was launched in Lagos state last weekend, has seen beneficiaries from Lagos Island Local Government receiving the Federal Government’s Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) of N10,000 each for the month of May and June.

The chairman of Lagos Island Local Government Hon Tijani Adetoyese Olusi hailed the Federal Government, the Lagos State government and the Commissioner for Wealth Creation and employment, Hon. (Mrs). Yetunde Arobieke for facilitating this program through the National Social Safety Nets Coordinating Office, under the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development.

Tijani while appreciating the government and thank them for their support in the cash transfer program in Lagos most importantly to the residents of Lagos Island as this will no doubt add value to the beneficiaries in one way or the other.

This programme facilitated the transfer of N5,000 per month to the identified beneficiaries, noting that payment was made every two months to eligible households selected from the national social register.

Hon. Adetoyese Olusi further appreciated all those who participated in the enrollment, the Cash Transfer Office and all the manpower for their commitment and support in making the implementation a success.
