In an attempt to promptly address the muddling crisis that has ceaselessly disrupted order in Alaworo CDA of Olorunda Local Council Development Area (LCDA), the Executive Chairman of the LCDA, Hon. Samson Folorunso Olatunde (SAMOLA) yesterday, Monday 29th June 2020 inaugurated an Adhoc committee to oversee the affairs of the CDA pending the time a new executive committee is constituted.
The said crisis was borne out of factional rancour amongst past Executives and has ultimately resulted in disorder in the CDA. With peace and security of lives and property of residents being some of the important yardstick driving the policies of his administration, Hon. Samola had set the Supervisory Councillor for Agriculture and Community Development (Hon. Wahab Ashade), the HOD Agriculture and Community Development (Mrs. Mary Olusanya), as well as the CDC Chairman (Alhaji Abu Ganiu Adesina) on course, to profer swift resolution to the crisis.
In a brief exchange with the Supervisory Councillor for Agriculture, Hon. Ashade, it was gathered that the directive to constitute a caretaker committee for Alaworo CDA was approved by the Council Boss having been recommended by the team set-up to investigate the crisis.
In his words, “Seeing the complications and drawbacks that were being generated as a result of the crisis, the Chairman instructed us to run a thorough investigation determining the genesis of the crisis as well as finding the best possible outlets through which we could emerge from the crisis before things got out of hand. We went about our duties and here we are today.”
Addressing the newly constituted Adhoc committee, the Council Mayor made it clear that they are now recognised as the eyes of the government in the community and should ensure that peace reigns at all times.
“Your assignment is to make sure there is peace. We want you to go and resolve the crisis and that’s why we insisted that members of the caretaker committee must be neutral and not belong to any of the factions at loggerheads”
Speaking further, he explained that resolving all Alaworo crisis would make transitioning seamless whenever new Executives are finally constituted and inaugurated.
“Your assignment is a very important one. If well carried out, it would reunite the entire community and make the transition smooth for new Executives when they are finally inaugurated. I urge you to give this your all. It is for the good of everyone involved.”
The inauguration was attended by other members of the Executive arm of government led by the Vice-chairman, Hon. Femi Bamgbose. The Council Manager, Mr. Dawodu, represented the Council Management Staff, While Alhaji Abu Ganiyu Adesina, the CDC Chairman led the CDC contingent at the meeting.
