COVID-19: Donors gives Kaduna State N1.2b to fight pandemic

The Executive Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai has announced a rise in the cash donation of the state as it hits N1.2bn. The cash donation is for the fight against COVID-19 pandemic in the state.

Speaking through his Special Adviser on Media and Communications, Muyiwa Adekeye, the governor appreciated everyone who had contributed to the COVID-19 treasury noting that it will help the state in the combat of the pandemic immensely.

“Many of the donors have kindly responded to the government’s stated preference for donations in kind. Others have also made their donations in cash and in-kind,” the governor was quoted in the statement”.

Governor El-Rufai further appreciated the donation of all political appointees, all well-meaning people, civil servants and their contributions to the pandemic war in the state.

“The government thanked citizens who have donated sums like N10, N100 and N1000, noting that this gesture demonstrates that the spirit of charity is strong even in those who do not have much,” he added.

He said the full list of donours has been posted on the state government website, noting that it would be updated from time to time.
