Presidency Speaks: Buhari does not wear facemasks when receiving visitors

The presidency on Saturday gave reasons why President Muhammadu Buhari does not wear face masks when he receives visitors in his office.

According to Lauretta Onochie, one of President Buhari’s social media aide, Buhari is not breaking the rules for not wearing facemasks in his safe environment. Saying that the nose mask is not necessary when one is in a safe environment since there is no way one can be infected since the environment is calm and safe.

The essence of the nose mask is to prevent one from spreading the virus and since the president is pandemic free, then why the nose mask?

In a tweet she shared on Saturday, she said “expert medical protocol is that if you are in your safe environment, you do not wear a mask.

She said that it is imperative for the visitors of the president to be on nose mask so as not to drop dropplets behind at the villa.

“Those visiting you must wear masks to ensure they leave no droplets in your environment.

“Wearing of masks is mostly to protect people around us.”
