A member of Ojokoro Community, Femi Faboyede has decided to complement the effort of the Executive Chairman of Ojokoro LCDA who gave out relief materials to the vulnerable households in the community.
Femi gave out 500 big loaves of bread as succor to cushioning the effect of the stay-at-home order by the Executive Governor of Lagos State and the Federal Government of Nigeria.
The stay at home order is to contain the spread of coronavirus in the country. However, the effect of the stay-at-home on the citizen is very killing as described by people whose means of livelihood are daily pay. This has completely put them in hunger and a vulnerable state.
Femi Faboyede popularly known as Pepper during the house-to-house loaf of bread dole out stated his reasons for the move. He said, it is to complement the effort of the Executive Chairman of the Local Council Development Area (LCDA) who gave out relief packages to the constituents.
Noting that, it is not possible for the council chairman to cater for all and sundry if he still wants to do other projects.
“Truth be told, the Chairman cannot give food items to all the people, it is not possible. It is only if we want to shy away from the truth”, he said.
“It is better we stop deceiving ourselves and face the reality of life now. This is the time to serve ourselves. See one another as friends and families. Show some love to everyone around us and spread a helping hand to one and other”, Femi said.
Community Development Association that benefited from the kind gesture includes Agborin Orona CDA, Adesola CDA, Gbinrinmi CDA among others.
He further called on every Nigerians who can afford to buy garri, bread, spaghetti, noodles, and other food items, to buy and share with the vulnerable people in their vicinity as this will go along way to cushion the effect of the lock-down on the people. “This is not the time to play politics with our sorry state but time to help the people. Let’s pray for Nigeria and the heath of all the coronavirus infected people worldwide”, he concluded.
Applauding the initiative of Femi Faboyede is Mr. Victor, chairman Adesola CDA saying the singular act has really relieved many people who really need it because his house-to-how really helped.
