The Federal Government of Nigeria has instructed that public servants work from home to minimize the spread of coronavirus.
In a memo released on Monday by the Head of Civil Service, Yemi Esan, it directs that Public servants across the country from level 1 -12 were asked to work from home while other top officials have been ordered to limit the number of visitors they receive.in their respective offices.
The directive takes effect from Tuesday 24th March 2020 until further notice.
Mrs Yemi Esan said, “that the decision came through because the government is concerned about the welfare and safety of all public servants just as it is about other Nigerians”.
She added that ”the Federal Government has taken several measures to manage the identified cases of COVID-19 and curtail its spread”.
The HOS urged all public servants to comply with the decision as it will help to reduce the spread of the virus.
