“Be committed and trustworthy”, ojokoro council boss counsel revenue collectors

Hon. Hammed Idowu D. Tijani (H.I.D) the Executive Chairman of Ojokoro Local Council Development Area has urged members of staff of the Council working as revenue collectors to show more commitment and be trustworthy in the discharge of their duties.

He gave the advice during a meeting held with all the revenue collectors at the Council’s secretariat on Monday, 13th September, 2021

“You need to be hardworking, exhibit great sense of commitment and be trustworthy in the discharge of your duties, as the major force in the Council’s revenue generation drive” he said.

The Council boss stressed the importance of honesty and sincerity on part of the revenue officers in order to generate more funds internally, to enable his administration execute major developmental projects across the seven wards in the LCDA.

He promised to provide all necessary working tools and create an enabling environment for the workers to enhance efficient and effective service delivery, as he directed that all money due to the Council must be paid directly into its account through designated banks.

He also warned all the revenue collectors against diverting the Council’s money into private accounts, as anyone caught in this act will be summarily dealt with accordingly.

In his own contribution at the meeting, the Council Manager, Mr. Adebola Adeyemi urged the revenue collectors to be professional in the course of discharging their duties, with the promise that there will be incentives for any outstanding staff that surpasses the targeted revenue from each of the three area offices in the LCDA.

Both the Chairman of the Council’s chapter of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Comrade Gbadamosi Olubunmi and the Area Officer of Alakuko/Alagbado, Mr. Kusimo Olusola thanked the Chairman for convening the meeting, which has become necessary to find ways of improving the Council’s internally generated revenue.

The NULGE branch Chairman pledged the support and cooperation of all members of staff of the Council to the second term of Hon. Tijani’s administration, in its efforts to move the Council forward to greater heights.

Oladipupo Coker; the Council Treasurer, Mr. Mukail Shafar; the Second Signatory, Mrs. Adesanya Olayinka; the Internal Auditor, Mrs. Olufunmilyo Olusanya-Samuel; Mr. Gbenga Adepoju, New Oko-Oba Area Officer; Mrs. Salami, Ayodele/Olatubosun Area Officer amongst others.
