No to parlor parties, NCDC warns Nigerians

As the second wave of the noble Coronavirus hits countries of the world, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has implored Nigerians to celebrate the Yuletide season in an open space with adherence to all COVID19 precautionary guidelines.

This is in a bid to contain the spread of the virus in the country as Nigeria seems to be on its way to the second wave.
There are indications of the virus spike based on the results of samples tested by the centre in the last few weeks across the Nigerian States.

NCDC speaking to Nigerians through it’s verified Twitter handle said the transmission of the virus during the festive period is bound to increase due to the manner and style of celebration the citizens usually adopts and this is bound to further increase the number of cases in the country.

“The risk of transmission from place to place has also increased with increase in festive season activities”, NCDC tweeted.
In other to stop the further spread through similar means, the NCDC, therefore, urged Nigerians to desist from any form of closed-door celebration or parlour party as that may be another avenue of contracting the virus. Noting that all forms of celebration must be in the open and inline with NCDC directives.

“We urge everyone to conduct celebrations in open spaces while adhering to all other #COVID19 preventive measures”, NCDC concluded.
