Public Defender: Sanwoolu inaugurates governing council

The Executive Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Governor, Babajide Olusola Sansoolu has inaugurated the governing council of the Lagos Office of Public Defender. This is in a bid to ensure Lagosians and residence of the state gets fair justice irrespective of their status.

The Governor made this know via his twitter handle as he made public some of the roles and responsibilities of the committee know to them and members of the public.

“Our administration believes firmly in ensuring access to justice for all citizens regardless of their socio-economic backgrounds and vulnerabilities”, the tweet reads in bits.

“On this note, I inaugurated the governing council of the Lagos Office of Public Defender today”, he tweeted.

Speaking of the kind of personalities that forms members of the committee,  the governor speaking through his twitter handle said members of the governing council are members with proven integrity and worthy character.

Sanwoolu further urged the members of the council to the appointment as an opportunity to serve and contribute to the betterment of the state and the society at large.

“In constituting this Council, we have taken care to select people of proven character and competence, who can deliver on the mandate of the Office. I charge members to see this appointment as a challenge to service”.

The Lagos State governor further made citizen to realize that the members of the council are the voice of the voiceless that will bring more hope to the public; especially those who are at a disadvantage.
