The Nigeria Police Force is not relenting on his effort to bring the killer of Omozuwa Uwaila, the 100Level nursing student of the University of Benin who was raped and killed in Edo to book.
Her death has been on the pages of social media for days and Nigerians calling for justice as rape cases are becoming the order of the day. Many young girls fall victim of this sad occurrence on a daily basis but very few are being reported as victims failed to speak out when this happens.
In a bid to bring the culprit to book, the Inspector-General of Police, Muhammed Adamu, has deployed forensic experts and support to the Edo State Police Command to complement and fast track investigation and actions in the ongoing investigation into the killing of Uwaila Omozuwa, a 100-level student of the University of Benin.
Omozuwa Uwaila was raped and murdered by hoodlums during her study time when she went to read at the RCCG, Miracle Sanctuary Mega Parish, Edo Province 10, in Benin City on May 27.
According to findings, going to church to study has been a regular act of the deceased as that church is usually a conducive and quiet place for Late Omozuwa Uwaila to learn more.
In a statement released on Monday by Force Public Relations Officer, Frank Mba, where he communicated the message of the Inspector General of Police.
The IG said the development is part of “deliberate and concerted efforts by the Nigeria Police High Command to unravel the circumstances surrounding the brutal attack and unfortunate death of the student”.
“The Inspector-General of Police has deployed additional investigations aids and forensic support to Edo State Police Command to complement and expedite actions in the ongoing investigations into the unfortunate incident”, he said.
The IGP, while condemning the attack on Omozuwa Uwaila, commiserates with the family, friends and colleagues of the deceased.
“He calls for calm and assures that the Force will surely bring the perpetrators of the callous act to book in the shortest time possible.
